Si! La hermanita de Adrian!

Ya viene en camino!!! No había anunciado nada oficial por aquí pero ya me moría por contarles y es que tengo casi 7 meses embarazada! La bebé vendrá para mediados de Febrero.

Adrian ya sabe y me toca la barriga y dice que cuando su hermanita nazca la va a cargar así (y pone sus brazitos como para cargar a un bebé). A mucha gente le cuenta cuando los ve que su mamá tiene un bebé en la barriga.

Estamos muy contentos de poder tener una niña. Cuando tuvimos a Adrian decidimos que fuera sorpresa el sexo del bebé y yo decía que no sabía cómo iva a hacer con un varón porque como en la casa somos puras hembras, (mi mamá, mi hermana y yo) pero a la final el instinto de madre es infalible y un varoncito es ultrarequete cheverísimo! Ja ja! Lo más cómico es que ahora siento que no tengo nada de experiencia para criar a una niña!! Ya me imagino que el instinto vendrá rapidamente.

Estoy en la etapa de tener mucha energía y querer hacer milquinientas cosas al día, me siento muy bien. Al principio me dieron muchas nauseas y no podía ni tomar café porque casi todo me daba asco! Totalmente diferente que con Adrian.

Ya les seguiré contando como me va. Por lo pronto les digo que este blog cambiará de nombre el año que viene porque no es nada más acerca de Adrian! ;)



Yes, Adrian's sister!

She's on her way!! I just haven't announced it officially here but I was dying to tell you because I'm already 7 months pregnant! The baby will be here around mid-February.

Adrian knows all about it and keeps touching my belly and says that when his sister comes out he'll carry her like this (and proceeds to put his arms like he's carrying a baby). He tells many people when he sees them that his mami is has a baby in her belly.

We are very happy to be expecting a little girl. When we had Adrian we decided not to know the gender of the baby and I used to think that if it was a boy I wouldn't know know what to do because at home we were all girls (my mom, my sis and me), but right after I had the boy mother's instinct kicked in and this is absolutely wonderful to have a littler boy. The funniest thing is that now I feel I do not have any experience on girls! I'm sure the instinct will kick in right away too.

I am in the stage where I have lots of energy and I want to do many things during the day, I feel great, although starting to feel kind of heavy. At the beginning I had lots of nausea, I couldn't even drink coffee, almost everything felt gross. Totally different than how I felt with Adrian.

I'll keep telling you how it goes. But for now I'll tell you that this blog will change its name starting next year because it's not going to be only about our life with Adrian! ;)

The Internet Mommy

The Internet Mommy is a book with great interviews and stories of moms that have blogs, internet stores or internet business. I went to the launch party of the book and I was able to meet some of the wonderful moms featured in it as well as others that I had met before. It's always so nice to be able to network in real life!

I like the book a lot cause it's very easy to read and very inspiring to me. It's nice to be able to know a little bit of the "behind the scenes" of how each of them started their business and how they still make it happen is fascinating.

For me it's still hard to manage being a mom and having a business under the same roof and I'm always feeling kind of overwhelmed. This year has been a tough one to manage, I'm eager to have a place outside of the house to work at but at the same time I'm so thankful to be able to have this space that I have now and have more time to share with my family.

Anyways, I really recommend the book, the author is Kimberley Clayton Blaine, she started her own internet business called TheGoToMom.com -go check it out!!

The Internet Mommy es un libro que tiene entrevistas e historias muy buenas acerca de muchas mamás que tienen blogs o tiendas y negocios en la internet. Tuve la oportunidad de asistir a la fiesta de lanzamiento del libro y de conocer algunas de las mamás que están en el además de encontrarme con caras conocidas ;) Es siempre muy chévere poder hacer contacto en la vida real!

Me gusta mucho porque me inspira mucho leer acerca de cómo empezaron cada una de ellas y como hacen para seguir con su negocio. Me parece muy interesante poder leer los "entre telones".

Para mi es todavía dificil el ser mamá y trabajar en la casa al mismo tiempo. Este año ha sido un año dificil para mi en ese sentido, quiero tener un sitio fuera de la casa para trabajar, no me acostumbro mucho a trabajar en la casa pero al mismo tiempo estoy muy muy agradecida de tener esta oportunidad y poder compartir más tiempo con mi familia.

En todo caso, de verdad se los recomiendo, la autora se llama Kimberley Clayton Blaine, ella también hizo su compañía en internet que se llama TheGoToMom.com -vayan a ver que tal!

Feliz Cumpleaños mi Niño!

Right when he woke up we went in his bedroom and surprised him with balloons and a special birthday cupcake and he was so sleepy he was kind of cranky but finally he blew the candles and he got excited about his birthday and ate his cupcake.

He was so excited that he spent about 3 days saying it was his birthday.

We gave him a little guitar that he really liked and my heart gets bigger and bigger every time he comes all of a sudden and says to me: -Mami, I like my new guitar! And this has happened many times since then until today, so CUTE! ...It makes me think ...He is so thankful for what he got no matter what color, where it came from or the size of it. We should always be thankful for what we have no matter what, and we ARE thankful!! He teaches us lessons everyday.

Happy 3rd Birthday Adri!



Inmediatamente después de que se despertó fuimos a su cuarto y lo soprendimos con globos y un cupcake especial de su cumple, estaba todavía entre dormido y despierto y medio modorro pero finalmente sopló sus velitas y se emocionó para ir a comerse su tortica.

Estuvo tan emocionado que se la pasó diciendo que era su cumpleaños por 3 días seguidos.

Le regalamos una guitarrita que le fascinó. Se me arruga el corazón cada vez que viene y me dice: -Mami, me gusta mucho mi guitarra! Y me lo ha dicho muchas veces desde ese día, que cuchi! ...Me ha puesto a pensar... Que agradecido que es, sin importarle si la quería o no, sin importarle como es, de que color pero le encantó y la disfruta y está tan agradecido. Uno debería ser más de esa manera con todo, que agradecida estoy! Gracias Adri! Nos enseña algo todos los días.

Aquí les dejo un video de ese día en la mañana. En la noche también le cantamos cumpleaños con otro pastel pero no tomé fotos. Vamos a ir a Disneylandia a celebrarle el cumple esta semana que viene, así que luego les contaré.

I AM SO PROUD!

Ahhhh!

I think I'm proud of myself as well as of Adrian.

I really needed this boot camp. I realized I am good at following directions. Otherwise my patience would not last long enough, as proofed once. I could have done this a long time ago if I had it but of course the universe gave us this time to do it and so it happened!

I was really trying not to worry when Adrian kept going in his underwear all day long on Friday and trying not to stress out since I had to spend 100% of time with him by my side, it was kind of exhausting but by 7pm I felt I was used to it ;)

I planned many activities so we wouldn't get bored:

-We made cookies
-He helped me with lunch and dinner (I made really easy meals)
-We did some sorting (I got the idea over here)
-We did the leaf project (same as last year, idea here)
-We watched TV (6 times of the Curious George Xmas Movie)
-We did laundry
-We colored with crayons, markers and stamps.

Just when I was really worried on Saturday afternoon, he started asking to go!

When he really went on the toilet was one of the most amazing moments I've experienced as mom (Ha ha! Never thought I would say this!) I felt so proud and happy, I started to jump up and down, I kissed him I praised him, I hugged him. He did the same too and said mami, mami, I did it, I did it! To be able to see his face and his excitement for this was the best!

He got lots of rewards, at the end he was just asking for them, which was not so good, I usually changed the subject. So on Sunday he didn't have any accidents and went on the toilet all day. The funny thing is that when it was time for a nap or to go to bed at night he asked to go pee about 5 times beforehand and I couldn't say no! He didn't even do anything but I still took him to the toilet. Oh my! I can see now that this too brings new challenges!

It was very intense, not leaving the house for 3 days (Although I had lots of help from the best husband ever on Sunday who read all the ebook and Oh if it wasn't for him!), no saying the word NO, or Bad Boy or don't do it there, etc. All with positive reinforcement, and it really worked!!

We haven't mastered the night time yet, I'm still following some of the advice like making a chart so he gets a BIG reward if his bed is dry the morning after, and sleeping by his bed and telling him to let me know when he needs to go all through the night... Let's see!

But for now, Adrian is a Big Boy!!

ESTOY MUY ORGULLOSA!

Ahhhhh ~respiro de satisfacción~!

Creo que estoy tan orgullosa tanto de mi misma como de Adrian.

De verdad necesitaba este entrenamiento intensivo. Me doy cuenta que soy buena siguiendo instrucciones. Si no mi paciencia no dura como ya lo comprobé anteriormente. He podido hacer esto hace mucho tiempo si lo hubiera tenido pero el universo nos lo dió ahorita y al parecer es cuando nos mejor nos convenía.

Estaba tratando de no preocuparme mucho el Viernes cuando Adrian se hacía todo el día en sus interiores y además de no estresarme tanto ya que tenía que estar a su lado 100% todo el tiempo, fué un poco agotador pero ya a las 7pm me estaba acostumbrando ;)

Planeé bastantes actividades para que no nos aburriéramos:

-Hicimos galletas
-Me ayudó a preparar el almuerzo y la cena (cosas facilitas)
-Hicimos una actividad que se llama clasificar (vi la idea aquí)
-Hicimos el proyecto de las hojas (el mismo del año pasado, la idea aquí)
-Vimos Tele (6 veces la película de Navidad de Curious George)
-Lavamos la ropa
-Coloreamos con creyones, marcadores y sellitos.

Cuando ya me estaba empezando a preocupar de verdaita el Sábado en la tadre me empezó a pedir que lo llevara al baño!

El momento en que de verdad hizo en la poceta ha sido uno de los momentos más asombrosos que he experimentado como mamá (Ja ja ja! Nunca pensé que diría esto!) Me sentí tan orgullosa y feliz, empezé a brincar, le di besitos, lo alabé, lo abrazé. El hizo lo mismo y me decía Mami, mami, lo hice, lo hice! Ver su cara de emoción fué la máximo!

Se ganó muchas sorpresas (o premios) y al final ya lo que hacía era decir, mami quiero una sorpresa, lo cual no era muy bueno. Traté de cambiar el tema rapidamente.

El domingo no tuvo ningún accidente en hizo en la poceta todo el día. Lo más cómico es que cuando era la hora de la siesta o la hora de dormir me pidió como 5 veces que quería ir y no le podía decir que no! A veces ni hacía nada pero de todas formas lo llevé. Ay Dios! Ya veo que esto también trae nuevos retos!

Fué bien intenso, quedarnos en la casa por 3 días consecutivos (aunque el Domingo tuve mucha ayuda de mi esposo que se leyó todo el librito y ay si no fuera por el!), no decir la palabra NO o así NO se hace, no lo hagas aquí, etc. Todo a base de refuerzos positivos, y de verdad funcionó!!

No hemos logrado que esté seco durante la noche, todavía estoy siguiendo los consejos que indican allí como el hacer un diagrama donde si al final amanece con su cama seca se gana un premio GRANDISIMO y otro consejo es dormir al lado de su cama y decirle durante la noche que me avise cuando tenga que ir al baño... Vamos a ver!

Pero mientras tanto, Adrian es un niñito Grande!

Here we go! Aquí vamos!

Adrian is going to be 3 y/o in one week!! WOW! He is a big boy and he will wear big boy underwear.
Wish us luck! We're going to do a 3 day potty training method this weekend that a friend gave us. I started reading it and I really really liked everything it says so I got very excited, I do love these kind of methods, remember the sleeping through the night one? It really worked!! So I'm excited to do this one as well!!

Pictures on this post are at the Pumpkin Patch we visited this year. He always has so much fun, but it's getting better cause he can enjoy more games now.

Deséenos (<---Esta palabra es muy rara de escribir) suerte! Vamos a hacer un método de entrenamiento de ir al baño en 3 días que nos pasó una amiga. Lo empezé a leer e inmediatamente me fascinó todo lo que dice, estoy muy emocionada y es que a mi me encantan este tipo de métodos, se acuerdan el que hicimos para lograr que durmiera toda la noche? Y sirvió perfectamente! Por eso estoy tan emocionada con este!

Las fotos en este post son del Pumkin Patch al que fuimos este año. Siempre se divierte mucho pero se está poniendo cada vez más divertido porque ahora puede disfrutar muchas más juegos.

Here we go! Aquí vamos!

El Hombre Araña - Spiderman

Después de que pensaba que no tenía esperanzas de que Adrian se pusiera un disfráz por fin se lo puso!! Que divertido es esto!! Soy la orgullosa madre de un hombrecito araña este año para el Día de Brujas.

Veíamos disfrazes en tiendas y en revistas y me decía que el quería ser El Hombre Araña o un Power Ranger pero a la hora de agarrar el disfráz me gritaba con terror: No No Mami, no quiero y empezaba a llorar como que si algo le estuviera haciendo.

Hasta que el día antes de la primera fiesta del día de Brujas lo llevé a otra tienda y estuvo muy tranquilito y se lo probó sin problema y no se lo quiso quitar desde la tienda!! Fuimos al parque, al automercado y hasta casi durmió con el. Pasó 2 días enteros con el disfráz puesto. Ya se, ya se, casi todos los niños hacen esto, pero es que me dió tanto orgullo verlo disfrutando de su disfráz! Y eso que todavía no hemos ido a hacer "Trick or Treat" en la Noche de Brujas de verdad, yuuupi!



Aquí hay unas cuantas fotos de la fiesta que organizamos en uno de grupos de mamás en el que estoy. Se divirtieron horrores, y ver a todos los niñitos disfrazados fué muy cuchi :)

After I was almost out of hope that Adrian would wear a costume this year, he did it!! This is FUN! I am the proud mama of a litttle Spiderman this year for Halloween.

We were looking at costumes all over stores and even in magazines and he said he was going to be Spiderman or Power Ranger but at the time we grabbed the costume and wanted to try it on him he screamed with terror saying: No No Mami, I don't want to, and he cried.

Until the day before the first Halloween party came up I took him to another sore hoping for the best and he behaved so well, calmly waited in line for his costume and tried it on really excited and didn't want to take it off from then on!! We went to the park and grocery shopping that day with his costume on, he almost slept with it! I know, I know, almost every kid does this, I just felt so proud finally watching him enjoy his costume! And there is still the real Halloween Trick or treat night to come!!!

We're back / De regreso

Time flies. So much to say, so little time. I didn't plan to leave for so long and since I didn't know I was going to start writing today again, I didn't plan this with too much anticipation either. Usually that's the way I blog, I plan little ahead, but I love it!

I'm happy to be back here writing in my little nook!! I need to have my little blog here put-together for you to keep visiting!

Today I realized how much I really like this. I was talking to a close friend that reads my 2 blogs and that is going to start one herself (I'll let you know when it's up!) and she mentioned again how much she misses reading mi blogs!! That's so nice to feel loved! And I'm also going to see some blogger friends tomorrow and meet new ones which might become friends too! That's one of the reasons I love to blog.

Another big reason why I love to blog is because it's strongly attached to my love for photography and I had lost it, so I slowly recuperated and finally today I processed some pictures I had in my computer from a month ago and it makes me feel so much better!!

The best part is that I get to share all this with all of you who come by and read. Thanks for waiting! A million thanks!! Let's be serious, a blog without readers is not a complete blog.




I'll be updating you little by little... Meanwhile here I have pictures of Adrian at the beach this summer, we really didn't go to the beach at all, that was the ONLY day! And we just went to walk around, the only one that had a swimming suit was him, he was sooo excited to play in there for that little time.

I love how as parents we can feel our kid's excitement and enjoy it as much, it's really like being a kid all over again. He was laying on his back on the sand and saying: -AAHH, Mami, this is so delicious!

I have now more little videos to share with you, so you'll see that here too, Adrian is talking so much and we can have conversations with him, I love this stage!! (Do I say this all the time?). He's also our little translator, let me tell you that this kid is completely bilingual! Turns around and translates for whomever didn't understand! Our efforts are paying so well!!

I don't have many pictures from our summer, I even stopped taking my camera out but I did keep looking at the flickr group I partipate La vuelta al Mundo, remember here and here? I get so much inspiration from them, it's amazing! I missed a bunch of assignments but I'll get back to it. My friend Kari helped me so much in getting inspired and using this technique of adding textures, so I started playing today and even a blog post came out! Gracias Karina, amazing!




El tiempo vuela, hay mucho que decir y poco tiempo para hacerlo. La verdad no planeé alejarme por tanto tiempo de mi blog y ni siquiera sabía que hoy volvería a escribir así que esto que escribo no lo pensé mucho. De todas formas así es como yo blogueo, no planeo con taaanta anticipación, pero me encanta!

Estoy muy contenta de regresar a este rinconcito a escribir y tengo que ponerlo al día para que uds sigan visitando!

Hoy me di cuenta cuanto me gusta esto. Estaba hablando con una amiga que lee mis blogs y que de paso va a empezar uno por su cuenta (Ya les avisaré) y me volvió a decir cuanto extraña leer mis blogs. Me sentí muy querida y además mañana voy a encontrarme con unas amigas blogueras y a conocer unas nuevas que solo conozco on-line! Conocer gente y además hacer amistades através del blog es una de las razones por las cuales me encanta bloguear!

Otra razón muy grande es porque bloguear está tan cerca de mi amor por la fotografía, el cual había perdido por un tiempo pero lentamente lo empezé a recuperar y hoy procesé unas fotos que tenía en la compu desde hace un mes y me hace sentir muy bien.

Lo mejor de todo esto es que lo puedo compartir con todos ustedes quienes vienen a leer, muchisisisisísimas gracias, los adoro!! Porque en serio, un blog sin lectores no es un blog por completo.



Los pondré al día poquito a poco... Mientras tanto, aquí puse unas fotos de Adrian en la playa durante este verano, la verdad no fuimos a la playa mucho, este día fué el ÚNICO! Y sólo fuimos a caminar los alrededores, el único que llevó traje de baño fué el, porsupuesto, estaba taaan emocionado de jugar ahí aunque fuera poquito tiempo.

Me encanta como ahora disfrutamos todas las alegrías por las que el pasa, de verdad es como ser niño otra vez! Se acostaba en la arena derepente reclinándose sobre los brazos y me decía: -AAAHH, Que rico mami!

Ahora también tengo más videos para compartir aquí, así que verán más de eso, habla tanto ahora que es muy divertido conversar con él y preguntarle cosas, me fascina esta etapa! (Eso como que lo he dicho antes!). También es nuestro pequeño traductor, déjenme decirles que este niño es completamente bilingue, se voltea y traduce al inglés o español para quien no entienda! Nuestros efuerzos están mostrando muchos frutos!

No tengo muchas fotos del verano, como les dije estaba down con la fotografía, ni siquiera sacaba la cámara cuando salía pero nunca dejé de ver las maravillas del grupo de fotografía en el que estoy La vuelta al Mundo, se acuerdan? De esto y esto? De allí me inspiro muchísimo! Me perdí de muchos proyectos pero pronto volveré y les mostraré. Mi amiga Karina es una de las culpables que me ha ayudado ha inspirarme, especialmente a usar esta técnica de usar texturas, empezé a jugar con mis fotos hoy y hasta me dió por escribir este post! Gracias Karina, eres una maravilla!
